Sometimes going out with certain people or doing certain things that – deep down – we know we shouldn’t do, makes us feel not that clever. Do not worry too much about it but try to find out how to stop feeling stupid so often.
In most cases, people are not stupid but just plain stubborn. No matter whether you are sure you are right about something, if all the other people around you say you are not then you need to think a little bit and sometimes it may turn out you really are wrong. Listen to the others so that you don’t seem stupid in their eyes.
The problem for many people is that they do not think carefully before they say something and usually this means that the things they end up saying sound stupid. Try to leave your feelings aside and do not open your mouth before you have considered all the words you intend to say.
Depending on your case, the feeling you are stupid may come from the social environment you live in. If most of your friends – let’s say – listen to one and the same kind of music or like the same sports but you are not competent to talk about those subjects then you should try to learn something more about them (or just hold your peace). The easiest way to go about this is to read more books, magazines or different web sites and prepare yourself better for the topics you know will be touched on during the conversations.
There are no people who are so smart that they know everything, although there are lots who would love to claim this. Some will talk bull for ever about anything and everything that exists in the world. To prevent yourself from falling into this trap you should just stick with the things you love and use your knowledge of these things to show the people you are not stupid.
Remember that nobody is born stupid. We just should learn more, read more and not be afraid to take the challenges that life has prepared for us.
